Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
AthanNow is built to respect your privacy. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. The app has no servers of its own, so your personal information is never sent to us or stored by us. This policy explains what the app uses, and the few third-party services it contacts to do its job.
Information we collect
None on our side. We do not operate servers, accounts, or analytics, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. The data the app works with stays on your device, except for the network requests described below.
Location
With your permission, AthanNow uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and to show your city name. You can also set a city manually instead of using GPS. Your coordinates are kept on your device. To turn them into a city name, and when you search for a city, the request is handled by the mapping and geocoding services listed below. We do not store your location or build any profile from it. You can change or revoke the location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Stored on your device
Your preferences, bookmarks, last-read page, and cached prayer times and Quran pages are saved locally on your device (and in an app group so the widgets can read your prayer times). This data never leaves your phone. You can clear it with “Reset all data” in the app’s Settings, or by deleting the app.
Notifications
Athan and reminder alerts are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server, and notifications are entirely under your control in the app’s Settings.
Third-party services
To calculate times and deliver Quran content, the app contacts the following services. Like any network request, these receive technical information such as your IP address. We do not send them personal information, and their use of data is governed by their own policies.
- Apple, for device location and reverse geocoding (your city name).
- Open-Meteo, for city search suggestions when you type a place name.
- quran.com API, quran-json, files.quran.app, and the QCF4 dataset (via jsDelivr and GitHub), for Quran page images, text, and page metadata (Juz and Hizb).
What we do not do
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or browsing activity. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Children
AthanNow does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
